ANTIQUE PARIS PORCELAIN MANTEL TIMEPIECE, RESTAURATION MAHOGANY CABINET, A Louis XV FAUTEUIL DE BUREAU

A Louis XV ORMOLU-MOUNTED MARQUETRY BOMBE COMMODE stamped Rubestuck JME with a russet marble top and two drawers, inlaid with floral parquetry, 3ft. 3m. wide (99cm.) circa 1750.
Francois Rube stuck (c. 1722-1785) was received Master in 1766.

A Louis XV/LOUIS XVI TRANSITIONAL ORMOLU-MOUNTED KINGWOOD AND TULIPWOOD COMMODE A ENCOIGNURES attributed to Charles Topino, with three drawers in the bow front flanked by cupboards, 3ft. wide (115cm.) circa 1775

Nicolay, L’Art et La Maniere des Maitres Ebenistes Francois, figure AE, illustrates an almost identical commode by Topino. Another in the Edward James collection was exhibited at the Brighton Art Gallery and Museum, French Furniture lent by Edward James Esq., item 3
Charles Topino was received Master in 1773 .

A Louis XIV BOULLE BUREAU MAZARIN, with seven drawers and a recessed cupboard, inlaid with arabesques in engraved brass on a scarlet tortoiseshell ground, 4ft. wide (122cm.) circa 1690.

A PAIR OF EARLY LOUIS XV ORMOLU-MOUNTED PURPLEHEART CORNER ARMOIRES in the manner of Charles Cressent each with three doors, 6ft. 6in. high (198cm.) circa 1725, with alterations.

The style of the parquetry and ormolu mounts is typical of the work of Charles Cressent (1685-1768). Les Ebenistes du XVIIIe Sickle Franfais,  46, figures 1 and 2 illustrates a pair of cupboards of similar form in the Louvre.
Another pair similar to the present armoires is in a private collection in Paris .

AN UNUSUAL PARIS PORCELAIN MANTEL TIMEPIECE, the 4-inch silvered dial signed P. Saphin, Princes Stt. Leicester Square, the movement with circular plates, in a biscuit porcelain case with two cherubs as the cresting, cornucopia flanking the dial and bleu du roil glazed panels overlaid with gilt leaves, on lion’s paw feet, 15m. high (38cm.) 19th Century.

A Louis XV ORMOLU-MOUNTED MARQUETRY BOMBE COMMODE, with three drawers, inlaid with floral parquetry, 3ft. 6in. wide (107cm.) circa 1755, handles replaced.

A Louis XV MARQUETRY BUREAU A CYLINDRE stamped Criaerd, with a fitted interior, the frieze with two drawers, 3ft. 3m. wide (99cm.) circa 1760, the mounts of later date.
Probably Mathieu Criaerd (1689-1776), received Master in 1738 .

A Louis XVI ORMOLU-MOUNTED WHITE MARBLE MANTEL CLOCK, the 41-inch enamel dial with red and black numerals and incorporating a calendar dial, with outside count wheel, in a drum-shaped case framed by Venus, Cupid and two doves, on a bow-ended black and white marble base, high (37cm.) circa 1790.

A PARQUETRY POUDREUSE with a hinged mirror-lined central panel flanked by lidded wells, raised on square tapering legs joined by a platform stretcher, inlaid with a flower head trellis, 2ft. 4m. wide circa 1880.

A Louis XVI ORMOLU-MOUNTED MARQUETRY TULIPWOOD PETITE COMMODE stamped Molitor, inlaid with urns and flowers, 4m. wide (41cm.) circa 1780, the drawers now converted to a cupboard.
Bernard Molitor was received Master in 1787.

AN ORMOLU-MOUNTED PARQUETRY GUERIDON of Louis xvi style, the circular top inset with two gouache fan-panels of views of Rome, sin. diameter (18cm.) fan-panels circa 1790, table circa 1900.

A RESTAURATION MAHOGANY CABINET, the pair of doors paneled to resemble drawers and flanked by free-standing columns, 4ft. high by 4ft. wide by 122cm. circa 1820.

A Louis XV/LOUIS XVI TRANSITIONAL ORMOLU-MOUNTED PARQUETRY COMMODE attributed to M. G. Cramer, with a Spanish brocatelle marble top, three frieze drawers above two large drawers with panels of interlaced lobed flower head parquetry, on cabriole legs, high by 4ft. 8in. wide (91cm. by 142cm.) circa 1800.

A very similar Commode, stamped M. G. Cramer, is in the Musee Nissim de Camondo,
Mathieu-Guillaume Cramer was received Master in 1771 .

A Louis XVI PARQUETRY GUERIDON attributed to J. Holthausen with a sliding door, gin. diameter {53cm.) with restorations.

An almost identical Gueridon stamped J. Holthausen is in the James A. de Rothschild Collection at Waddesdon Manor.
